Oil on Canvas
20" x 20"
This work titled Vigilant by Jane Jacobs, addresses the keen awareness
of the painter attempting to see herself clearly and imagine herself in paint.
A person, their attitude and inherent qualities maybe revealed to us as we
look closely and pay attention to how we feel in response to what we see.
In continuing observations and paintings of individuals the
painter appreciates the uniqueness of each person in the moment.
How do we see ourselves? How do we see each other?
There is no objectivity, only the inter-subjectivity of the self and other.
"We do not see the world as it is. We see the world as we are"
