Carol Weber was born and raised in St. Louis Missouri. She focused on becoming an artist at a very young age and actively pursued that path from the very beginning. She moved to Illinois as a graduate student in art at Northern Illinois University. After earning a MFA degree, she moved to just outside of Chicago where her focus has been both teaching art and exhibiting her work.
Artist Statement:
Early influences of nature and architecture are evident in all aspects of my work. I enjoy the qualities inherent in structure and the tactile nature of well-worn surfaces. Each piece, no matter the medium, is an exploration of the essence of time and atmosphere. Any place or memory that evokes an emotional response or sense of quiet awe becomes a potential subject for my work. It is this subtle exploration of both the inner and outer worlds in which we live that intrigues me the most.
