Expressive Charcoal Masterclass with Sergio Gomez
Unleash the Freedom of Expression in Black and White
Step into the raw, powerful world of charcoal with acclaimed artist Sergio Gomez, internationally recognized for his monumental figurative abstractions and large-scale charcoal drawings. For the very first time, Sergio is opening his creative process to a small group, guiding you through the techniques and secrets that make charcoal an unmatched medium for expression.
This 2.5-hour immersive workshop is more than instruction—it’s an invitation to explore mood, movement, and emotion through black and white. Sergio will walk you through transforming ideas into charcoal, using techniques of addition and subtraction, layering, and expressive mark-making. You’ll discover the impact of paper types, learn how to apply stencils, and master finishing details that elevate both abstract and representational works.
Perfect for beginners to intermediate artists, this workshop offers a balance of structure and freedom, giving you space to create with intuition and confidence. By the end, you’ll leave with two original pieces—one abstract and one representational—that reflect your personal exploration with this timeless medium.
