PROCESS

“To get my ideas to paper I frequently make a small sketch, which is a kind of guideline for the painting. In this case I used fairly thick watercolor paper, as it has a structure, which I found useful. The diluted acrylic paint markes the background of the painting . It has been partly scrapped off with a spatula during the painting process. Acrylic paint dries fairly quickly, which allows me to continue with my creative process shortly afterwards. Among a big selection of different kinds of paper, I selected the appropriate pieces and composed the design by applying piece by piece. Sometimes it requires tearing off pieces, overlapping, applying glue, finish or paint to emphasize the design. To complete the design some small elements with oilstick were added.”
