Lake Worth, FL — 33 Contemporary Gallery is pleased to present Venus Reclaimed: Strength & Identity, a juried figurative art exhibition opening Thursday, March 5, from 6:00 to 8:00 PM at the Palm Beach Art & Design Showroom. The exhibition will remain on view through March 28, 2026.

Curated by Sergio Gomez and Didi Menendez, Venus Reclaimed brings together over 40 artists in the physical exhibition, with additional artists featured in an extended online presentation hosted on Artsy. The exhibition coincides with Women’s History Month and offers a contemporary reimagining of Venus as a symbol not of passive beauty, but of resilience, agency, transformation, and self-definition.

Drawing submissions from an international pool of artists, the exhibition reflects a wide spectrum of voices and perspectives working within figurative traditions across painting, drawing, photography, mixed media, and sculpture. The works collectively explore themes of strength, identity, vulnerability, empowerment, and the evolving narratives surrounding women in today’s world.

“Venus Reclaimed moves beyond historical archetypes to present a more complex and authentic vision of womanhood,” says curator Sergio Gomez. “The selected works challenge conventional representations and instead honor the depth, diversity, and lived experiences of women today.”

The physical exhibition will showcase a dynamic range of figurative works installed within the Palm Beach Art & Design Showroom, while the parallel online exhibition expands accessibility to a global audience. Together, these platforms create a multifaceted viewing experience that bridges local engagement with international reach.

The opening reception on March 5 will provide collectors, artists, and the public an opportunity to meet participating artists and engage directly with the works on view.
